Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) & Yoga with Holly B at Shanti Retreat
Aug 18, 2015 - Aug 20, 2015

Over the course of just a few days you will watch your skills improve, tune into nature as you surround yourself with the beauty of the St-Lawrence River...and laugh! You’ll learn basic paddle-boarding technique during an afternoon workshop and the next morning, take your yoga off the mat and be introduced to yoga practices designed for the board.

In the afternoon, enjoy a Restorative Yoga practice to unwind and stretch as well as free time to relax, canoe, kayak, jump on the water trampoline, read in a hammock or get back on the board. ¸

All levels are welcome, from beginners to those more experienced. Space is limited.

Shanti’s nurturing atmosphere provides guests with the inspiration to delve deeper into the gift of yoga and the possibilities for transformation and growth.

Savour the opportunity to pause from the ebb and flow of daily life.

Retreat Schedule
Tuesday
Arrival anytime after 2pm & check-in
4:00 pm Meet and Greet + Intro to SUP with Holly
6:30 Dinner
8-9pm Restorative Yoga with Wendy

Wednesday
7-8 am Self-Serve Breakfast
8:15 - 10 am SUP Flow Yoga with Holly (warm up on the ground, paddle around Brown's
Bay, followed by Asana practice)
10:30 – 11am guided meditation with Darin
12 pm Lunch
1-4 pm Free time to canoe, kayak, read, cycle, go to the beach, enjoy a hammock, jump
on the water trampoline, slack line, swim or get back on the board.
4:30 - 6pm Restorative Yoga with Lacey
6:30 Dinner
Free time to enjoy the sunset with a cup of herbal tea
9 pm Bon Fire

Thursday
7-8 am light morning snack of fruit, trail mix and oatmeal
8:15 - 10 am SUP Flow Yoga with Holly
10:30 am Brunch
Departure any time before 2 pm

RATES
$425 plus HST for 3 or 4 share
$450 plus HST for 2 share

All activities are optional of course…it’s your retreat. You may choose to just hang out in a hammock or find your sacred space along 1000 feet of private shoreline.

Instructors:
Holly B, Co-creator of SUPnorth, has a passion for outdoor adventures and love of surfing. Her mission is to share the joy of gliding over Zen like silky waters with the amazing physical benefits of Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga.

Co-founder of Shanti Retreat, Wendy has been studying, practicing and living yoga for more than 20 years. She will introduce you to a meditative, hatha yoga practice that deals with energy and chakra awareness (Agama Yoga).

Sacred Relationships Retreat at Shanti

Join two very gifted instructors, Tiffany & Kristof, for an introduction to Tantra, Partner Yoga and Compassionate Communication.

They will offer various techniques, exercises and a wealth of information drawing from the teachings of Yoga, Meditation, Tantra, Compassionate Communication, Modern Sexology, Ayurveda and their own relationship!

This fun-filled weekend will help you transform the way in which you view sexuality, partnership and love. It will enhance all the relationships in your life - with your children, co-workers, family, and Self.

This retreat is suitable for both singles and couples, and there will be absolutely no nudity or explicit exercises.

Each room has shared accommodation with their own washroom facilities. Couples are guaranteed private rooms.

Tiffany Nicholson-Smith (E-RYT 500, RPYT) is a radiant Yogini, an Ayurvedic Practitioner and a lover of life who is known for bringing her clarity, abundant energy and aspiration for truth into everything she shares and offers.

Kristof Wittstock (E-RYT 500) is a down-to-earth spirit who is known for his clear dedication to truth and his humble heart.

Together they bring their vast knowledge to create a retreat that is not only comprehensive and inspiring but also deeply joy-filled and celebratory of the blessing of life.

Yoga Nidra Retreat with Manu at Shanti Retreat

Yoga Nidra is most commonly practiced as a technique for deep relaxation and rejuvenation. In addition, it enables you to develop more awareness in your dreams and life in general. It’s based on Indian and Tibetan yogic teachings and incorporates modern psychology. You will learn practical methods for transforming your night’s rest into a greater source of restoration.

Gentle hatha yoga classes will be included during the weekend to help support you and deepen your practice of yoga nidra. It is a yogic technique that helps us to put aside our worries and false identifications and reconnect us with our true self.

Shanti’s nurturing atmosphere provides guests with the inspiration to delve deeper into the gift of yoga and the possibilities for transformation and growth.

Manu Akshobhia (Emmanuel) has been studying and practicing yoga for more than twenty years and has an extensive knowledge of yogic teachings from Agama yoga, Hridaya yoga and Prem Baba. He has a wealth of information to share and inspire you on your journey.
