Mid-Week Yoga and Meditation with Darin & Wendy at Shanti Retreat

Summer is here, and a glorious time to enjoy all that Shanti has to offer; hang out in a hammock, swim in the bay, lounge on the water trampoline, enjoy the views from a waterside deck chair, or take a walk in nature.

Give yourself the gift of nurturing and nourishing your body, mind and soul with gentle hatha and restorative yoga, guided meditation, silent morning walks, yoga nidra, and delicious and lovingly prepared vegetarian meals.

Savour the opportunity to pause from the ebb and flow of daily life.

Retreat Schedule

Tuesday:
Arrival time is any time after 2pm
5:00pm – 6:30pm Yoga class
7:00pm Evening meal
8:15pm Satsang (informal gathering)

Wednesday:
8:30am – yoga class
10:45am – brunch
Leisure time
3:30pm –4:15 meditation
4:30pm – 6:30pm yoga class
6:30pm – evening meal
8:00pm – Shanti cinema

Thursday:
8:30am – yoga class
10:45am – brunch
Departure time is any time before 2pm

All activities are optional of course…it’s your retreat.

Each room has shared accommodation with their own washroom facilities. Couples are guaranteed private rooms with a King size bed.

INSTRUCTORS:
Co-founders of Shanti Retreat, Wendy and Darin, have been studying, practicing and living yoga for more than 20 years.
They will introduce you to a meditative, hatha yoga practice that deals with energy and chakra awareness (Agama Yoga).

They have taught in Thailand at Agama Yoga, in Kobe, Japan, as well as facilitated many retreats over the past 10 years at Shanti.

GETTING TO SHANTI
No car? No problem. We are conveniently serviced by Via Rail and Megabus.

Call us in advance to arrange a complimentary pick up on the island to Shanti Retreat.

It’s a scenic 20 minute free car ferry ride to this island getaway.

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) & Yoga with Holly B at Shanti Retreat
Aug 18, 2015 - Aug 20, 2015

Over the course of just a few days you will watch your skills improve, tune into nature as you surround yourself with the beauty of the St-Lawrence River...and laugh! You’ll learn basic paddle-boarding technique during an afternoon workshop and the next morning, take your yoga off the mat and be introduced to yoga practices designed for the board.

In the afternoon, enjoy a Restorative Yoga practice to unwind and stretch as well as free time to relax, canoe, kayak, jump on the water trampoline, read in a hammock or get back on the board. ¸

All levels are welcome, from beginners to those more experienced. Space is limited.

Shanti’s nurturing atmosphere provides guests with the inspiration to delve deeper into the gift of yoga and the possibilities for transformation and growth.

1-4 pm Free time to canoe, kayak, read, cycle, go to the beach, enjoy a hammock, jump
on the water trampoline, slack line, swim or get back on the board.
4:30 - 6pm Restorative Yoga with Lacey
6:30 Dinner
Free time to enjoy the sunset with a cup of herbal tea
9 pm Bon Fire

Thursday
7-8 am light morning snack of fruit, trail mix and oatmeal
8:15 - 10 am SUP Flow Yoga with Holly
10:30 am Brunch

Yoga Nidra Retreat with Manu at Shanti Retreat

Yoga Nidra is most commonly practiced as a technique for deep relaxation and rejuvenation. In addition, it enables you to develop more awareness in your dreams and life in general. It’s based on Indian and Tibetan yogic teachings and incorporates modern psychology. You will learn practical methods for transforming your night’s rest into a greater source of restoration.

Gentle hatha yoga classes will be included during the weekend to help support you and deepen your practice of yoga nidra. It is a yogic technique that helps us to put aside our worries and false identifications and reconnect us with our true self.

Shanti’s nurturing atmosphere provides guests with the inspiration to delve deeper into the gift of yoga and the possibilities for transformation and growth.
